Things I And my Sibling Do To Spend Our Time During Lockdown In India

The entire world is fighting the greatest battle ever against the Novel Coronavirus, which has taken many lives worldwide by now. Amidst which, the government of India took the righteous step of putting the entire nation under lockdown because seriously, it is the only way out to defeat this dreaded virus. Now the needful extension of the lockdown has once again made people think what they should do to spend their time during the lockdown, right? Well, in my opinion, there is always a silver lining no matter how dark the cloud is. Yes, for me, my silver lining during this pandemic, has been my sibling and my family, of course. Time does really fly when you have a crazy sibling back at your home and eventually landing many more memories into your pockets.

My lockdown is turning out to be nothing less than summer vacations which I used to spend with my siblings and cousins during our childhood. Spending time with siblings might not sound a great idea to many, however, it is a sheer blessing during this lockdown. Let me discuss in great length, how my sibling and I are spending time during this lockdown. So, let’s get started!

Many of you must be wondering that this lockdown is really getting on me, but seriously, I have lost the count on the lockdown now because it really feels safe and contended to be at home now. Starting my day with a bed tea which my sibling and I have decided to make on alternative days. Bed tea followed by a delicious breakfast prepared by my mother. Most of us come out of this lockdown as a panda but do not blame us, nobody could resist their mom’s delicious handmade food, right? Well, I am not exaggerating, but my sibling and I do help our parents with domestic chores since the maid is on leave. Of Course, it does feel like signing a treaty when we divide the work among us, however, we manage to pull off the work, which eventually makes my mother smile. Honestly, be among the toppers in your class your mother won’t praise you, help her with domestic chores, she is proud to have you as her child. Relatable? Now, I get to take advantage of working from home as my sibling would do more work comparatively (yes, that makes me happy). In the evening, we play badminton in our courtyard (hoping to lose a few pounds) and believe me, it’s nothing less than an international tournament. Maintaining the social distancing, our neighbours become our spectators from their terraces and balconies. Then, it’s time we again help our mother with the dinner preparations and then, we put up a movie that our whole family watches together. Before we slip into our beds, we do play indoor games like ludo, charades, or antakshari. Yes, it might sound cliche or cheesy to you as it was to me at first, but now I seriously enjoy doing these activities with my family every day. It has brought us much closer than we were before. If you are sharing your room with your sibling with your sibling then I am pretty sure, you just cannot skip those chit chat sessions where you do share your secrets with your sibling, right?

I know that the virus outbreak and shutting off the country has chipped away our economy, industries, IT sector and whatnot, but the only source of positivity we all should look up to is our family. However, if you are away from siblings and miss him or her, then, send rakhi gift across any part of India now since there are some relaxations provided by the government. Bring a smile on your sister’s or brother’s face with a heart-felt gift on this rakhi.
