Common Gardening Mistakes That You Probably Don't Realise You're Making

Gardening is a very common hobby that people find easy as well as peaceful. But i tell you what, gardening is anything but easy.. It’s not all about just planting a seed and watering it regularly. This may work for a short time, but there are so many other things to keep in mind. Most of us learn gardening from YouTube, right? So, we tend to make lots of mistakes.

We all make mistakes in life, but the good thing about gardening mistakes is that they are easy to avoid, unlike the other life problems. While we order flowers online we would have never wondered all the efforts that go by in growing each flower. So, here are some common gardening mistakes you probably do without knowing.

Wrong plants at wrong spot

Let’s start with the common mistake that you commit while planting new buds. We often tend to plant wrong plants at wrong spots. We like to treat all plants equally and it is a good thing that you believe in equality, but try this in the real world and spare the plants because all plants are different and have different requirements. Thesun loving  sunflowers may look good in the front yard of your house but they won’t survive if the area is shady. Similarly, all plants have different sun needs and won’t survive when planted in the wrong area. So, have an appropriate spot for each plant species before you sow them.

Not planting flowers

Some people love planting house plants, while some like to fill their garden with fresh blooms. Well, I tell you what, no matter how much you like to grow herbs and other oxygen yielding plants at your place, one mistake that people tend to make is not growing flowering plants. Flowers attract the pollinators, got a flashback of high school science? Well, botany time and again reminds us why pollination is important to produce fruits and seeds. So, make sure you make pollination easy for these winged workers by planting pollinator-friendly plants in your garden otherwise how will you send flowers to your people?

Placing buds too close

Another very common mistake observed is that people often place the buds too close to each other. I understand that you like a fuller garden closely packed to each but the problem is that when you place the plants too close, this leaves too little space for them to grow. It is very important to keep the right amount of space between the plants. This really decides the success or failure of your garden because the plant may seem to be okay right now, but if it does not have enough space to grow, it will eventually die off. This usually happens when you start your gardening with seeds, so keep sapce between them to let them grow in full size.

Overwatering

You know we often show too much generously to the plants and this too much kindness can actually take away the life of your plants. I’m talking about watering your plants too much. There is a common myth that says your plants should be watered regularly. But this is true because each plant has a different water need. Depending on the place they are kept, temperature if the room, sunlight it receives. This water needs of a plant depends on its size too, a smaller plant will definitely need less water than the full grown plant. So, keep these factors in mind before filling them to rim each day.

Letting weed take over

Next mistake that you may be committing is not paying attention and letting the weed overtake your garden. Obviously weed is no good for your plants as it takes all the nutrition of the soil and plants. So, keep your garden clear of weed.

Avoid these common gardening mistakes for a successful garden.
