“You love him more,” said the eight-year-old when her mother (by mistake) gave the bigger portion of food to her brother.
Well, parents are usually accused of this when there is more than one child in the house. The root cause of this is nothing but the constant battle amongst the siblings to achieve the maximum attention of the parents.
Don’t you agree that growing up siblings is a full Hindi film drama? There is action, lots of tears and definitely infinite happy moments. No matter how badly you wanted to get rid of them in your childhood, you cannot deny the fact that siblings hold a large portion of your childhood memories. And even if you dont want to accept it out loud (ego issues), in your heart you know that your childhood would have been so dull, if you dont had your brother/sister on your side. And when one of you moved out, others might not have expressed it, but could literally have felt the heart sinking to the pit of the stomach. Now, those memories overpower the sibling rivalry, and that is why we all send rakhi gifts to their place each year, right?

Marathon to the washroom
I dont think that there are siblings in the world who haven’t fought for the first turn to the washroom. Remember rushing to the washroom first and banging the door just because you saw your sibling was on his or her way to use it. You didn’t even have to use the loo but still sat for hours just to trouble the other one.
Getting them punished
Not concerned about what’s going on in our life, the sole purpose of life was to get the other one punished. The thrill to see them get punished was a sole satisfying view for us.
Sharing is caring
Sharing your food was like giving them a share in your property. And no matter how quietly you opened your packet of chips, they magically appeared to ask their share, without fail.
The secret keepers
Remember that mini deal that you cracked with them to let them hit you harder for not telling your secret to your parents. Okay, i won’t say that they are the best secret keepers it is just the urge to hit you that forced them to keep quiet.
Pre-home leaving warnings
Since you two always fought like hooligans, your parents always had to warn you to behave respectfully and affectionately before stepping out in public.
Mutual choice of people
You couldn’t stand each other even for a second, but the only thing that united both of you was that you hated a common person. By person, I mean a common relative.
You would be able to connect to most of them if you grew up with a brother or a sister.
